Cocytus was the home of the Demons/Fallen Angels.

History[]

Cocytus existed in an unspecified location that could be reached through a portal or a gate that exists in Sword Valley. The interior and exterior of Cocytus was hot with flames and smoke always present. Some parts, such as Lucifer's chambers, did not possess these traits (though it is questionable if Lucifer's chambers was in Cocytus at all, given it survived the latter's destruction).

Cocytus fell when Charioce XVII sent an army and destroyed most of the realm and captured three tribes of demons and took them back to Anatae where they were enslaved and used as labor and entertainment. The surviving demons and fallen angels relocated to an isolated wasteland made of ice where they hid for years.

The demons taken away to Anatae remain there to this day, not as slaves but as paid workers following Charioce XVII's apparent defeat of Bahamut.
